In today's world many don't
believe in the authority of the Bible or in it's application for today.
Its sad to say that most who believe this don't even know the Bible and/or
haven't read it. I'll start by saying that most people in the world
believe in God or some sort of higher power or powers. I will not discuss
here at any length the vain pursuits of these other beliefs in God, other
gods, or higher powers. You can learn more about other gods, God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit by going to the link below:

There are many reasons that
these are false. The main problem however, or the root of this issue, deals
with people not accepting truth. Many people believe that sincerity or
heart felt belief is enough. Many also believe that there are no absolute
truths. If that were true, I challenge anyone to believe that they can
walk through a solid brick wall through sincere belief. I will accept examples
of others if you cannot do it yourself. Or what if I wanted to call my
friend on the phone, and his number was 111-1111, and I refused to use
that number and wanted to choose my own number to dial and still reach
him? No matter how sincere I was, nor how strong my belief system, it would
not work. I go a little more into these issues here:

I heard an interesting arguement
about the absence of absolutes on the radio. If someone says, there are
no absolutes, are they absolutely sure? Isn't it an absolute, when you
say there are no absolutes? Thus isn't this very logic flawed?
Anyways, the absoluteness
of God is what I want to use to lead us into the importance and authority
of the word of God, or otherwise known as the Bible.
Numbers 23:19:
"God is not a man, that
He should lie, neither the Son of man, that He should feel repentance or
compunction (for what He has promised). Has He said, and shall He not do
it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?"
Hebrews 13:8:
"Jesus Christ, the Messiah,
(is always) the same, yesterday, today, (yes,) and forever-to the ages."
Psalms 119:89-91:
"Forever, O Lord, Your
Word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations;
You established the earth, and it stands. They stand this day according
to Your ordinances, for all things are Your servants."
You can see from those scriptures
that the Bible and God claim that His word is steadfast.
How can a person really know
that God is all powerful? Besides reading the Bible? Well, first of all
it takes faith. And what exactly is faith?
Hebrews 11:1:
"Now faith is the assurance
(the confirmation) of things hoped for, being the proof of things (we)
do not see and the conviction of their reality-faith perceiving as real
fact what is not revealed to the senses."
Can anything really be proven?
Everything takes some faith. Even evolution is faith, despite what the
media and scientists say. In fact, it takes greater faith in evolution
than creation or in Jesus. Am I just pushing out my view? No, we have swallowed
what they teach us in faith. Old theories of evolution with hope of future
evidence has never panned out. Here is a quote:
Quotable
Quote: No Proofs For Evolution First published in Creation Ex Nihilo 13(3):,
June-August 1991
'Genetics
has no proofs for evolution. It has trouble explaining it. The closer one
looks at the evidence for evolution the less one finds of substance. In
fact the theory keeps on postulating evidence, and failing to find it,
moves on to other postulates (fossil missing links, natural selection of
improved forms, positive mutations, molecular phylogenetic sequences, etc.).
This is not science.'

Personally I don't need physical
evidence for my faith or salvation. But when it comes, it only builds me
up. Faith is in the unseen. I've never seen Australia, but I believe it's
there. I have faith in maps. However, if you want physical evidences that
evolution is not true or evidence of creation then check out my page that

Well Ok, maybe God is real,
creation is true, but do I know the Bible is accurate? Well that also,
takes faith. Faith in an all powerful God. Is God greater than man? Can
God keep His Word? It seems okay that we can trust teachers and historians
who tell us of things we haven't seen. Let's listen to this at least:
2 Tim 3:14 - 4:4:
"You, however, continue
in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom
you have learned; and that ...you have known the holy scriptures, which
are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which
is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness; that the man of God may be complete and proficient, thoroughly
equipped for every good work. I charge (you) in the presence of God and
of Jesus Christ, ... preach the Word! Be ready in season (and) out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all great patience and doctrine. For the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but to have their
ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance
to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and
will turn aside to myths."
Hebrews 11:3:
"Through faith we understand
that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are
seen were not made of things which are visible."
Most of us know how the name
of Jesus is supposed to be very high, even nonchristians will curse in
the name of Jesus in anger. Maybe you are familiar with:
Philippians 2:10:
"That at the name of
Jesus every knee shall bow..."
Well did you know that God
has put His Word above His Name?
Psalms 138:2:
"...for thou has magnified
thy word above all thy name."
You can prove God's Word
in 3 ways::
1. Do the word in doctrine
and witness truth in your life-
John 7:16-17:
"...'My teaching is not
Mine, but His who sent Me. If any man is willing to do His will, he shall
know of the doctrine, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.'
"
2. The Holy Spirit will bear
witness of Christ (Jesus is the Word of God - John chapter 1)-
John 15:26:
" 'When the Comforter
is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth,
who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me.' "
3. Confirming signs-
Mark 16:20:
"And they went out and
preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the
Word by the signs that followed."
The Word of God is very powerful.
Either we can dilute it with traditions or receive it with meekness which
will save our souls.
Mark 7:13:
" 'Making the Word of
God of none effect through your traditions, which you have handed down;
and you do many things such as that.' "
James 1:21:
"...and receive with
meekness the word implanted, which is able to save your souls."
I suggest you you try the
3 methods above to test God's Word, and see if it is true. I will end this
page with a powerful scripture about the Word.
Hebrews 4:12:
"For the Word of God
is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even
to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
