I started my LOR Action figure collecting around the end of 2002 or the beginning of 2003, I can't quite remember. I had only like 3 or 4 pieces for a few months, before I began interest in other pieces. So I was a late LOR action figure collector, after the 2nd movie! I started only out of interest in the original pieces I had bought because I liked the characters in the book/movies. One piece I wanted, but couldn't afford was the 14 inch electronic Treebeard. I reserved it for my friend and he bought it. I ended up buying him the twin pack of Merry & Pippin to go with Treebeard and had bought him the same couple of figures I had for myself later on. I became a "collector" around the time I bought Gandalf the White. Some of my collection I have not opened, and some I have. This is based upon the value of the item, if I desire it to be out, and if the item can be used or make noise...

The list of figures I wish to still get, in order of desire:
 

Gandalf the Grey in the new Trilogy packaging, it has a blue lighted staff as the old is green, and the new face sculpt
Frodo w/Sting (with green or yellow Sting) I would like this for the collectors rarity, as well as the simple appearance (I have green would like the yellow one now)
Easterling This figure is difficult to find, and looks somewhat interesting
Gandalf the White  with cloth cloak/cape, found in old style ROTK packaging, on the Horse & Rider set (but has rubber legs), and in the foreign Twin pack with Saruman
Haldir near the bottom of the list, as I doubt I will get this, it is found in the Helm's Deep Gift pack
 

Below are some of the new and coming figures, some I have not even seen pictures. I have listed these as of interest to me. The list will probably change, since I do not name some, which I may like after seeing it, or some I name may be taken off after I see it:

Elrond in Robes  Since I don't have an Elrond figure, but I may get one because it is repackaged, if not, this may be equally interesting...

Deluxe Fell Beast  I think there are gonna be 3 versions of this by 2 different companies. About the same size only an inch or 2 different. They look promising. 1 comes with a play set, with the ruins of that city. 1 comes with a rider, if not both...The play set looks very promising, I have looked at the other play sets and they did not interest me.

As you can see, the up and coming new figures look very promising. This seems to be the opinion of many collectors, thus the new issue will probably be the best, although it is disappointing that the new packaging is cheaper, this is going to be acceptable if the price of the figures will drop as one site I saw suggests. But is not acceptable if they take out some accessories like Bilbo's stand in the Traveling Bilbo figure.
